![]() Game is GPU bound as tested with vrFPS to get the readings with CPU frametimes always less than GPU.There are some errors that can happen when you try to play with the HTC Vive. IC check compliant VR shaders and ReShade. MSAA x2 and most in game settings to High except flat shadows and cockpit illumination off. Hardware: 32Gb 3600 mem, M.2 SSDs, 3090 (mild OC), 3600x (mild OC), in a Reverb G2 at 100% renderscale in both game and SteamVR. *Tested on Marianas in single player with an F18 low workload custom mission. ![]() ReShade on top looked even worse with shimmering and artefacts galore, particularly badly on text and the HUD. I only briefly tried 0.59 render scale the graphics just went to potato quality but it did gain significantly more frames (in the order of 45 FPS -> 60 FPS at high alt.). I like some of the colour balancing you can get in ReShade so tweaking both systems shapening filters may get me to a good compromise. I've recently been using ReShade to much success and the sharpness effect at 0.75 was nowhere near what ReShade was doing, and layering them at my normal settings made the shimmering unacceptable. The image quality was fine but you could see some odd artefacts if you looked very closely (such as weird grid patterns on the MFDs and clouds for example). One can only hope/dream.Ġ.77 render scale and stock 0.75 Sharpening gave a roughly 10% improvement all round (high alt. I shouldn't complain about a free boost but it is worth stating that my experience with DLSS in Cyberpunk and COD is leagues ahead. Weirdly I cannot seem to get any log file but it was definitely doing something. I'm going to persist with balancing the sharpness settings MSAA and see if I can find a sweet spot to just keep me above 45fps at all times to suit the VR but as performance without was OK I may leave it for now (I think I am lucky that I seem to have a high tolerance for VR glitches / stutters!) TL DR it definitely works but I'm not sold on whether the downsides balance out (yet). Here is my experience after a bit of a play last night and a false start getting (the very simple) installation wrong to start with. I will take some FPS readings tomorrow to get specific numbers but this is the real deal people. It's already so perfect I'm not going to touch it. You can also modify settings in the openvr\_mod file that you copied over from the zip file but I didn't bother. Rename it to "openvr\_"Ĥ) Extract the ZIP files from the above download.ĥ) Copy and Paste those files into the DCS/BIN folder.īASK IN THE NEW GLORY. It's a must.ġ) Download the ZIP file from here. Here are the no nonsense EASY instructions. Tomorrow I am going to ramp up settings to see just how far I can go. This brought me such a massive increase in FPS I feel like I just bought a new video card. And this was with Virtual Desktop running in my Quest 2. ![]() When I lifted off in the Huey I swear I almost cried. ![]() This is on my current settings which I didn't change so I could compare. I've gained at least 20FPS and it's now butter smooth. I tested in IL2 at the default 75/75 and, on WoL, where I usually get anywhere from 55-65 fps, I didn't even play because it caused some weird double vision issue in my lens that made the menu and game hurt to look at.Ĭurrent Steam settings: motion smoothing off globally, render at 70% on IL2 and DCS I tested in DCS at the default 75/75 and, on my own server where I usually get 45-50 fps, I got the same 45-50 fps, but with added stuttering that wasn't there before. Unfortunately, this mod did nothing at all for me in DCS and messed something up in IL2 (assuming I didn't screw something up). ![]()
